# Talkpal vs Elixir

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Talkpal at 3.9K against Elixir's 3. Talkpal also leads on chart position (#182 vs unranked). Elixir's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Talkpal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Elixir sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Elixir holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Talkpal has 3.9K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Talkpal ships an update every 9 days, Elixir every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
