# Talkpal vs Polyglot Video Player

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Polyglot Video Player at none against Talkpal's 3. Polyglot Video Player also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Talkpal's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (4K vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Talkpal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Polyglot Video Player asks for nothing beyond the download.

Polyglot Video Player holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Talkpal has 4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Talkpal ships an update every 10 days, Polyglot Video Player every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
