# Backcast vs Afrogreat

The clearest difference is update cadence: Backcast at every 5 weeks against Afrogreat's every 5 months. Backcast also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Backcast ships an update every 5 weeks, Afrogreat every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
