# BBQ vs Sёmga

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Sёmga at 100% against BBQ's 29%. Sёmga also leads on ratings volume (23 vs 2). BBQ's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.3) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BBQ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sёmga has 23 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of BBQ's written reviews are positive against 100% of Sёmga's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BBQ ships an update every 2 weeks, Sёmga every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
