# Pulp Showtimes vs AFI FEST

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: AFI FEST at none against Pulp Showtimes's 3. Pulp Showtimes's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (16 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pulp Showtimes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. AFI FEST asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Pulp Showtimes against 5.0 for AFI FEST. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pulp Showtimes has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
