# SmartOffPrint vs Shimmer Browser

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SmartOffPrint at none against Shimmer Browser's 4. SmartOffPrint also leads on review sentiment (80% vs 50%) and ratings volume (14 vs 2). Shimmer Browser's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shimmer Browser sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. SmartOffPrint asks for nothing beyond the download.

Shimmer Browser holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartOffPrint has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of SmartOffPrint's written reviews are positive against 50% of Shimmer Browser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SmartOffPrint ships an update every 3 weeks, Shimmer Browser every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
