# OnTopic Chat vs Harmonizer

OnTopic Chat and Harmonizer both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of OnTopic Chat's written reviews are positive against 64% of Harmonizer's. OnTopic Chat also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Harmonizer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OnTopic Chat sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Harmonizer sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for OnTopic Chat against 4.9 for Harmonizer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Harmonizer has 168 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of OnTopic Chat's written reviews are positive against 64% of Harmonizer's.

OnTopic Chat ships an update every 3 months, Harmonizer every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
