# Cat Trip vs Hidden Tales

The clearest difference is update cadence: Hidden Tales at every 9 days against Cat Trip's every 2 months. Hidden Tales also leads on ratings volume (20K vs 235) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cat Trip sells 9 one-off in-app purchases and Hidden Tales sells 24 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hidden Tales holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hidden Tales has 20K ratings behind it against 235, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Cat Trip's written reviews are positive against 40% of Hidden Tales's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cat Trip ships an update every 2 months, Hidden Tales every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
