# Speedometer vs Pacer

The clearest difference is rating: Pacer at 5.0 against Speedometer's 4.2. Pacer also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.0). Speedometer's advantage is ratings volume (18 vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Pacer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speedometer ships an update every 3 weeks, Pacer every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
