# DNS Changer vs DNS Optimizer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: DNS Changer at 96% against DNS Optimizer's 25%. DNS Changer also leads on ratings volume (177 vs 7). DNS Optimizer's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DNS Changer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and DNS Optimizer sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DNS Optimizer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DNS Changer has 177 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 96% of DNS Changer's written reviews are positive against 25% of DNS Optimizer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DNS Changer ships an update every 4 weeks, DNS Optimizer every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
