# Dnd Character Journal vs PocketScroll

The clearest difference is update cadence: PocketScroll at every 4 days against Dnd Character Journal's every 3 months. Dnd Character Journal's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dnd Character Journal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PocketScroll sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dnd Character Journal ships an update every 3 months, PocketScroll every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
