# Zoundy vs REF

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Zoundy at 100% against REF's 0%. Zoundy also leads on rating (5.0 vs 1.0) and monetization model (free vs subscription). REF's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Zoundy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zoundy has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Zoundy's written reviews are positive against 0% of REF's.

Zoundy ships an update every 4 months, REF every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
