# Frequency Generator vs SeptaSync

The clearest difference is ads: SeptaSync at none against Frequency Generator's shown. SeptaSync also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 47%) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Frequency Generator's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (471 vs 4). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Frequency Generator sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and SeptaSync sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $10.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Frequency Generator holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Frequency Generator has 471 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Frequency Generator's written reviews are positive against 67% of SeptaSync's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
