# Uplock vs Nice Scan

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Nice Scan at none against Uplock's 7. Nice Scan also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.4). Uplock's advantage is ratings volume (129 vs 1) and device support (5 vs 3). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Uplock sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Nice Scan asks for nothing beyond the download.

Nice Scan holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Uplock has 129 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Uplock ships an update fortnightly, Nice Scan weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
