# QuickNotation vs Doodle

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: QuickNotation at none against Doodle's 2. QuickNotation also leads on ads (none vs shown). Doodle's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 17 months) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Doodle sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. QuickNotation asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for QuickNotation against 5.0 for Doodle. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Doodle has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

QuickNotation ships an update every 17 months, Doodle every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
