# QR Scanner vs SpamSafe

The clearest difference is review sentiment: QR Scanner at 100% against SpamSafe's 44%. QR Scanner also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5). SpamSafe's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (4.8K vs 121). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QR Scanner sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and SpamSafe sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

QR Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SpamSafe has 4.8K ratings behind it against 121, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of QR Scanner's written reviews are positive against 44% of SpamSafe's.

QR Scanner ships an update monthly, SpamSafe every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
