# eChess vs CPChess

The clearest difference is update cadence: CPChess at every 2 weeks against eChess's every 2 months. eChess's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. eChess sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and CPChess sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

eChess ships an update every 2 months, CPChess every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 12, 2026 and September 11, 2026 respectively.
