# JellyBox Player vs Flex

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: JellyBox Player at none against Flex's 3. JellyBox Player also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). Flex's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flex sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. JellyBox Player asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: JellyBox Player has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

JellyBox Player ships an update every 5 days, Flex every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
