# Seat Guru vs Switchgear

The clearest difference is rating: Switchgear at 5.0 against Seat Guru's 4.1. Seat Guru's advantage is ratings volume (52 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Seat Guru sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Switchgear sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Switchgear holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Seat Guru has 52 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
