# Ghost Chat vs AR Spirits Box

The clearest difference is rating: AR Spirits Box at 4.5 against Ghost Chat's 3.7. AR Spirits Box also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (2.2K vs 129). Ghost Chat's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (58% vs 47%). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ghost Chat sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and AR Spirits Box sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AR Spirits Box holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AR Spirits Box has 2.2K ratings behind it against 129, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of Ghost Chat's written reviews are positive against 47% of AR Spirits Box's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ghost Chat ships an update every 3 weeks, AR Spirits Box every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
