# GymIQ vs Echo Empathy

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Echo Empathy at none against GymIQ's 2. Echo Empathy also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). GymIQ's advantage is ratings volume (253 vs 32) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GymIQ sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Echo Empathy asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for GymIQ against 4.9 for Echo Empathy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GymIQ has 253 ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 97% of GymIQ's written reviews are positive against 100% of Echo Empathy's.

GymIQ ships an update every 3 weeks, Echo Empathy every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
