# Freckle vs Walley

The clearest difference is rating: Walley at 5.0 against Freckle's 4.7. Walley also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months) and device support (3 vs 1). Freckle's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 88%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Freckle sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Walley sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Walley holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 13 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Freckle's written reviews are positive against 88% of Walley's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Freckle ships an update every 8 months, Walley every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
