# Cellular Tower vs CellMapper

The clearest difference is ads: CellMapper at none against Cellular Tower's shown. Cellular Tower's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and review sentiment (20% vs 6%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cellular Tower sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and CellMapper sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cellular Tower holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cellular Tower has 5.3K ratings behind it against 749, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 20% of Cellular Tower's written reviews are positive against 6% of CellMapper's.

Cellular Tower ships an update fortnightly, CellMapper every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
