# SwiftRead vs BionicWords

The clearest difference is update cadence: BionicWords at every 2 days against SwiftRead's every 9 days. BionicWords also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SwiftRead sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and BionicWords sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SwiftRead ships an update every 9 days, BionicWords every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
