# Secure Folder vs vCalc

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Secure Folder at 439 against vCalc's 55. vCalc's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure Folder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and vCalc sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Secure Folder against 4.5 for vCalc. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure Folder has 439 ratings behind it against 55, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 31% of Secure Folder's written reviews are positive against 29% of vCalc's.

Secure Folder ships an update every 2 weeks, vCalc every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
