# Check Mate EX vs Tasks

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tasks at every 2 weeks against Check Mate EX's monthly. Check Mate EX's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Check Mate EX sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Tasks sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Check Mate EX ships an update monthly, Tasks every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
