# Voicepal vs TextMeter

The clearest difference is ads: TextMeter at none against Voicepal's shown. TextMeter also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Voicepal's advantage is ratings volume (652 vs 4) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.5). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Voicepal sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and TextMeter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Voicepal against 5.0 for TextMeter. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Voicepal has 652 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of Voicepal's written reviews are positive against 100% of TextMeter's.

Voicepal ships an update every 3 weeks, TextMeter weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
