# Planetarium Projector vs Space Gate

Planetarium Projector and Space Gate both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 86% of Space Gate's written reviews are positive against 22% of Planetarium Projector's. Space Gate also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (202 vs 1). Planetarium Projector's advantage is price (Free vs $12.99) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Planetarium Projector is free to download; Space Gate costs $12.99 up front. Space Gate sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Planetarium Projector asks for nothing beyond the download.

Planetarium Projector holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Space Gate has 202 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of Planetarium Projector's written reviews are positive against 86% of Space Gate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Planetarium Projector ships an update every 2 months, Space Gate weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
