# Task vs Transcribe Now

Task and Transcribe Now both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 94% of Transcribe Now's written reviews are positive against 80% of Task's. Transcribe Now also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 days) and ratings volume (74 vs 10). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Task sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 3 months and Transcribe Now sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Task against 4.4 for Transcribe Now. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Transcribe Now has 74 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of Task's written reviews are positive against 94% of Transcribe Now's.

Task ships an update every 8 days, Transcribe Now every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
