# Task vs Dun

Task and Dun both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 80% of Task's written reviews are positive against 36% of Dun's. Task also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.2 vs 26.0). Dun's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 8 days) and ratings volume (78 vs 10). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Task sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 3 months and Dun sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dun holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dun has 78 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Task's written reviews are positive against 36% of Dun's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Task ships an update every 8 days, Dun daily. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
