# +964 vs VAR Media

The clearest difference is monetization model: VAR Media at free against +964's ad-supported. +964's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for +964 against 5.0 for VAR Media. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: +964 has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
