# Voice Recorder vs FLEX

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: FLEX at none against Voice Recorder's 3. Voice Recorder's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 16 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Voice Recorder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. FLEX asks for nothing beyond the download.

Voice Recorder ships an update fortnightly, FLEX every 16 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
