# Brushes for Procreate+ vs Procreate Brushes Tools

The clearest difference is monetization model: Brushes for Procreate+ at free with in-app purchases against Procreate Brushes Tools's subscription. Brushes for Procreate+ also leads on ratings volume (157 vs 28). Procreate Brushes Tools's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 9 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brushes for Procreate+ sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Procreate Brushes Tools sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Brushes for Procreate+ holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brushes for Procreate+ has 157 ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Brushes for Procreate+'s written reviews are positive against 75% of Procreate Brushes Tools's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brushes for Procreate+ ships an update every 9 months, Procreate Brushes Tools every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
