# FIVE vs Heartnotes

The clearest difference is ads: Heartnotes at none against FIVE's shown. FIVE's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FIVE sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Heartnotes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FIVE ships an update fortnightly, Heartnotes every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
