# Strive Planner vs Mychanic

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mychanic at none against Strive Planner's 3. Mychanic also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). Strive Planner's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (60 vs 3). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Strive Planner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Mychanic asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mychanic holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Strive Planner has 60 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 96% of Strive Planner's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mychanic's.

Strive Planner ships an update every 9 days, Mychanic every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
