# LuckRing vs HDV CAM

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: HDV CAM at none against LuckRing's 5. HDV CAM also leads on rating (2.6 vs 2.2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). LuckRing's advantage is ratings volume (345 vs 23) and review sentiment (23% vs 15%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LuckRing sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. HDV CAM asks for nothing beyond the download.

HDV CAM holds the better App Store score, 2.6 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LuckRing has 345 ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of LuckRing's written reviews are positive against 15% of HDV CAM's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LuckRing ships an update every 3 weeks, HDV CAM every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
