# LuckRing vs Tape

The clearest difference is rating: Tape at 5.0 against LuckRing's 2.1. Tape also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 3 weeks). LuckRing's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (348 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LuckRing sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Tape sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tape holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LuckRing has 348 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

LuckRing ships an update every 3 weeks, Tape daily. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
