# Veggie Stack! vs Merge Yarn

The clearest difference is ads: Merge Yarn at none against Veggie Stack!'s shown. Merge Yarn also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks). Veggie Stack!'s advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (147 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Veggie Stack! sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Merge Yarn sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Veggie Stack! holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Veggie Stack! has 147 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Veggie Stack! ships an update every 2 weeks, Merge Yarn every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
