# Grave Compendium vs OSCharacter

The clearest difference is review sentiment: OSCharacter at 100% against Grave Compendium's 29%. Grave Compendium's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (daily vs every 5 weeks). On price, ratings volume, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OSCharacter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Grave Compendium asks for nothing beyond the download.

Grave Compendium holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of Grave Compendium's written reviews are positive against 100% of OSCharacter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Grave Compendium ships an update daily, OSCharacter every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
