# XPTV vs Seven Player

The clearest difference is monetization model: Seven Player at free against XPTV's free with in-app purchases. Seven Player also leads on device support (6 vs 3) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). XPTV's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. XPTV sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Seven Player sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

XPTV ships an update every 4 days, Seven Player every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
