# Character Art vs Doodlebud

The clearest difference is device support: Doodlebud at 3 against Character Art's 1. Doodlebud also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Character Art sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Doodlebud sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Character Art ships an update every 5 days, Doodlebud every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
