# Talk Chineasy vs Summit

The clearest difference is monetization model: Summit at freemium against Talk Chineasy's subscription. Summit also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days). Talk Chineasy's advantage is ratings volume (189 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Talk Chineasy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $16.99 per month and Summit sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Summit holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Talk Chineasy has 189 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Talk Chineasy ships an update every 9 days, Summit every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
