# Switchgear vs Supernova

The clearest difference is rating: Switchgear at 5.0 against Supernova's 4.4. Supernova's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Switchgear sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Supernova sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Switchgear holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Supernova has 73 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Switchgear ships an update monthly, Supernova every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
