# Fishkeeper vs App

The clearest difference is rating: App at 4.8 against Fishkeeper's 3.0. App also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (17 vs 3). Fishkeeper's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Fishkeeper asks for nothing beyond the download.

App holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: App has 17 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Fishkeeper's written reviews are positive against 94% of App's.

Fishkeeper ships an update every 5 weeks, App fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
