# Cipher Chase vs Unsolved Case

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Cipher Chase at 100% against Unsolved Case's 50%. Cipher Chase also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ads (none vs shown). Unsolved Case's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 2.5) and ratings volume (113 vs 2). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Unsolved Case sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Cipher Chase asks for nothing beyond the download.

Unsolved Case holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Unsolved Case has 113 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Cipher Chase's written reviews are positive against 50% of Unsolved Case's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cipher Chase ships an update every 2 days, Unsolved Case every 4 months. Both last shipped on November 4, 2026.
