# POPONET vs RedgateVPN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: RedgateVPN at 100% against POPONET's 50%. RedgateVPN also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.2). POPONET's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. POPONET sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and RedgateVPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RedgateVPN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: POPONET has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of POPONET's written reviews are positive against 100% of RedgateVPN's.

POPONET ships an update every 2 weeks, RedgateVPN every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
