# Penwok vs HyNote

The clearest difference is ratings volume: HyNote at 7.7K against Penwok's 1. HyNote also leads on chart position (#132 vs unranked) and device support (4 vs 2). Penwok's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Penwok sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $69.99 per year and HyNote sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Penwok holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HyNote has 7.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Penwok ships an update fortnightly, HyNote weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
