# NextPet vs Pet

The clearest difference is rating: NextPet at 5.0 against Pet's 1.0. Pet's advantage is ratings volume (18 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NextPet holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pet has 18 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NextPet ships an update monthly, Pet every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
