# Math Notes vs LaTeX Note

The clearest difference is rating: LaTeX Note at 5.0 against Math Notes's 3.6. LaTeX Note also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4). Math Notes's advantage is ratings volume (22 vs 1) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Math Notes sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. LaTeX Note asks for nothing beyond the download.

LaTeX Note holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Math Notes has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Math Notes ships an update every 10 days, LaTeX Note every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
