# Frequency vs Frequency Generator

The clearest difference is ads: Frequency Generator at none against Frequency's shown. Frequency Generator also leads on update cadence (daily vs fortnightly) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Frequency's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 11) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Frequency against 4.8 for Frequency Generator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Frequency has 1.2K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Frequency ships an update fortnightly, Frequency Generator daily. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
